Solon Barocas

Solon Barocas is Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Information Technology Policy at Princeton University. He completed my doctorate in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, during which time he was also a Student Fellow at the Information Law Institute at the School of Law and a member of the Institute’s Privacy Research Group.

Solon has worked with the Intel Science & Technology Center for Social Computing under its Algorithmic Living research theme, the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University on the Global Network Initiative, the Center for Global Communication Studies at the University of Pennsylvania on NGOs as information intermediaries, and the Stern School of Business at New York University on its Social Impact program.

Solon has an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and graduated from Brown University with a BA in International Relations and Modern Culture and Media, where he worked on the Information Technology, War, and Peace project at the University’s Watson Institute for International Studies.
